今日再分发代祷名单,请一同站立为你所关怀的对象代祷。名单中若有三分之一出席聚会,教会就可达到100人在主的面前献上敬拜。
4) 保健聚会
上周一许顺明牧师将教会印在周刊封面上之10个字念给大家听并传达宝贵信息。「长存信望爱活出真善美」。经文取自林前十三:13与彼前三: 15~16。若以时间来说,并以以一只船作为比方; 信是过去,望是未来,爱是现在.信是船的舵,让船不随意漂流, 信徒当坚定不移, 带出得胜的见证。 信是长存的,因为上帝是信实不变的。望指船的指南针,信徒的生活当有目标,会看破世界, 看重极重无比的荣耀。上帝是光,表明上帝的荣耀.爱是船的发动机,信徒有行动,活出基督,不迷恋世界,意思不是讨厌,乃是要胜过,而且有能力去改变它。圣经说:没有爱就住在死中,没有生气。要让罪人从迷路上转回, 便是救一个灵魂不死。再下去生活的真是真实不虚假。善带出上帝的怜悯,当结出光明的果子,与上帝合一,这是良善的意思。美是表露高尚的品格, 众人以为美的事要尽力去行,持守尽力与众人和睦的生活,这是美又是善(诗133:1)

牧者的话 - 28-10-2008
主内列位同道及朋友们平安:
信望爱聚会第一年的开始许顺明牧师带给会众「最伟大的就是爱」的信息。第五年的开始教会再次请许牧师重讲「伟大的爱」。彼此相爱是「主耶稣的命令」,特将主在约十三章34~35节所讲的话分享如下:
提到基督教就提到“爱”,“爱”是基督教信仰的中心,信徒生活的准则和动力,基督教的具体不能没有“爱”,没有“爱”就没有意义,也失去见证。主耶稣说:「我赐给你们一条新命令,乃是叫你们彼此相爱,我怎样爱你们,你们也要怎样相爱。你们若有彼此相爱的心,众人因此就认出你们是我的门徒了。」(约十三:34~35)。
1)彼此相爱的动机---彼此相爱必须除去个人感情上的满足。有关「相爱」所提到的赏赐,报答或称赞都不能成为追求的目标。「相爱」不是一个「建议」,不是主对你的一个期望或是一项「请求」,而是「命令」。既然是主的命令就要遵从;比方一个仆人听命於主人,一个士兵服从官长一样。一个尊主为大,尊敬主为王的信徒,首要的命令必须无条件的顺从,首要的功课是「彼此相爱」,这是动机。
2)彼此相爱的标准---主说:「我怎样爱你们,你们也要怎样相爱」。用礼貌礼让一起相处还不能达到标准,但一个披戴基督,照主所行的去行的信徒是主怎样显示爱心,他们也怎样显示爱心。约翰壹书三:16告诉我们爱的定义;「主为我们舍命,我们从此就知道何为爱,我们也当为弟兄舍命」。爱是放下自己,对别人有所给,肯分享。建立和睦是最快乐的事,相反的,相争制造双方面的痛苦。以下的三点很重要:宽容饶恕是给予别人的第一个功课,照顾服侍人是第二课,彼此代祷是追求灵里合一的第三课,主在受难前的祷告,一共有五次求上帝使信的人合二为一,合一的程度与成功是根据主耶稣与天父的合一。信主耶稣立志行道的信徒应避免破坏圣灵所赐合二为一的心,只有藉着和睦、合一才能证明自己是上帝的儿子。
3)彼此相爱的果效---主说:「你们若有彼此相爱的心,众人因此就认出你们是我的门徒了」。
作为门徒的一个记号就是彼此相爱。当基督徒遭受逼害的时候,罗马的官长便说,我无法消灭基督徒,因他们的家有属灵的力量。这力量就是在一起祷告,生活,活出彼此相爱的见证的结果。教会太注重人数、物质、组织、关系、活动、工作,结果是带来了失去相爱的见证。恩赐不能没有见证,工作不能没有圣灵,圣灵的果子就是以爱为开始的,没有爱就没有盐的味道,光的功用,为此就失去吸引人的因素,主耶稣是藉着爱吸引万人来归向他,我们承继了他的工作也不能例外。传福音的使命是爱的使命,是还福音的债,但也是爱心的债,求主让我们对主有信靠的心,藉着爱他去爱人,也通过爱人表示爱主。这样才会有真正的果效。

Peace be unto you!
Rev Koh Soon Meng shared the message “Love is the greatest of all” when Faith, Hope and Love just established. The beginning of the fifth year, he was once again invited to share “Love is the Greatest”. To love one another is the Lord’s commandment to all. Allow me to share what the Lord said in John 13:34-35:
Christianity and love are inseparable. Whenever Christianity is mentioned, the subject of love is inevitably raised. Love is the heart of the Christian faith. Love is the standard criterion and the motivation for Christian living. The Body of Christ cannot exist without love. Without love, the Christian witness is lost and all things are futile and meaningless. Our Lord Jesus says, “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35). There are three aspects to these teachings on “loving one another” in this short passage.
1. The Motivation of Loving One Another
To love one another, we need to set aside our self-seeking ways and selfish desires. That is we are not seeking self-gratification or self-glorification. God’s directive to us to “love one another” is not a suggestion, an expectation or even an appeal. It is a command from God that we should love one another. We ought to honour God’s commandment to us just as a servant listens to his master and a soldier obeys his commander. If we accept the sovereignty of God in our lives, his commandment is absolutely our rule for life, faith and obedience.
2. The Standard of Loving One Another
The words of Jesus are as follows: “Love one another as I have loved you”. Acting with civility to one another does not measure up to God’s love. His imperative for us is to love one another as He has loved us. 1 John 3:16 states: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” To love as Christ loves is to lay down oneself and willingly give and share with others. To live harmoniously with one another brings much peace and joy while to live in disunity brings much strife and pain. Loving a person entails three vital lessons: to forgive is the first step. The second step is to care for one another. This is followed by the third step to pray for one another. Before his death on the cross, Jesus prayer altogether five times for the unity of his believers. Our unity as a body of believers is to reflect the unity of the Father and the Son. It is clearly Christ’s directive to us not to destroy the unity of the Spirit but to attain oneness in our life and witness for His Son.
3. The Consequence of Loving One Another
The words of Jesus are as follows: “By this, all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” A true disciple is characterized by his genuine love for one another. In the face of Christians persecution, the Roman soldiers realized that there was no way of annihilating the Christians because their love for one another has forged such a formidable, indestructible strength among themselves; their oneness consolidated through fervent prayer, communal living, generous giving and selflessly sharing. When a church is overly concerned with numbers, materialistic gains, organization, status quo, activities and job per se, the church loses her witness, her credibility and the ability to love one another. It is impossible to do the Lord’s work without His Spirit enabling. Love is the starting point in the process of bearing fruit for the Lord. Without love, we cannot be as salt of the earth and light of the world. Without love, we cannot draw others to Christ. It was the love of God that drew many to our Lord Jesus. To continue His work, we cannot do otherwise than to continue in His love. God’s love for us came to us with a price. It costs Him His only Son. To share the good news is to shed abroad His love. Let us love God and trust God fully as we share the love which God has loved us so that through this love, more people will know Him. In so doing, we will indeed bear much fruit for Him.
This Sunday, 2 November 2008 at 6.00pm, lets us prepare our hearts to come before the Lord’s Table to partake in the Holy Communion in remembrance of our Lord. I hope fellow believers and friends are able to invite your friends or relatives to attend our service at least once monthly or bi-monthly. God’s promise is that where we meet, there His presence is with us.

「弟兄们哪、可见你们蒙召的、按着肉体有智慧的不多、有能力的不多、有尊贵的也不多.神却拣选了世上愚拙的、叫有智慧的羞愧.又拣选了世上软弱的、叫那强壮的羞愧.神也拣选了世上卑贱的、被人厌弃的、以及那无有的、为要废掉那有的。使一切有血气的、在神面前一个也不能自夸。」
(一)耶和华保护愚人 诗116:6
「耶和华保护愚人.我落到卑微的地步、他救了我。」
1.幼稚子一般的心,信靠神的人

“单纯的人”
“保护”原文在“保守” 的意思
“欣赏”的意思。
圣经上说:「……按着肉体,有智慧的不多,有尊贵的也不多,神却拣选了世上愚拙的,叫有智慧的羞愧。」
神使用愚拙的、软弱的、卑贱的、和无有的,
「神却拣选了世上愚拙的、叫有智慧的羞愧.又拣选了世上软弱的、叫那强壮的羞愧.神也拣选了世上卑贱的、被人厌弃的、以及那无有的,为要废掉那有的」 (林前一:27~28)
「他叫有权柄的失位,叫卑贱的升高,叫饥饿的得饱美食,叫富足的空手回去。」 (路一:52~53)

(二)有智慧的不多----智慧是神所赏赐
26节「你们蒙召,按肉体有智慧的不多,有能力的不多,有尊贵的不多。」
林前一:19~20「就如经上所记:“我要灭绝智慧人的智慧,废弃聪明人的聪明。20节智慧人在那里?文士在那里?这世上的辩士在那里?神岂不是叫这世上的智慧变成愚拙吗?”」
(三)以单纯的心依靠阿爸父勇敢向前
信望爱聚会进入第五年求阿爸父赏赐给我们:
1. 每个人被圣灵充满,有能力有权柄,得到兴旺。
2. 人数增加.有机会带人归主。
3. 有自己的聚会场所。以愚直的心、单纯的心、向阿爸父恳求。
「是,Yes」
「不,No」
「等候,Wait」
当神关了亚细亚的门后,保罗不灰心的继续寻求祷告,於是马其顿福音的门开了。
当神说「等候,Wait」的时候通常是因为背后有属灵的争战,就像神听到但以理的祷告,但是因为波斯的魔君的阻挡,经过了21天之后才成就。
记住,当你等候时,阿爸父也在为你争战,所以这时更要与神同心祷告。

牧者的话 - 21-10-2008
主内列位同道及朋友们平安:
进入第五年,用「悔改」做为起步的标竿。今日附有一本“奇妙救恩”小册,见证吴勇长老悔改信主后被上帝重用,一生爱主爱人,荣耀主名,阅后请转送给亲友。
主耶稣把悔改作为他在加利利传福音的主题(可一:15)。彼得讲了五次道,有三处明文提到悔改的重要性(徒二:38,三:19,五:31)。

Peace to you!
As we enter into our fifth year of ministry, I used “repentance” as the start of the benchmark. Enclosed with this letter is a copy of “Wonderful Salvation”, a testimony by Elder Wu Yong, who after his repentance was mightily used by God, loving God and loving man. After you have read the testimony, please pass it on to your friends or relatives.
Jesus Christ used “Repentance” as the theme of his evangelism in Galilee (Mark 1:15). In Peter’s five sermons he delivered, there were three clear references he made on the importance of repentance. (Acts 2:38, 3:19, 5:31).
The original text of “repentance” is to change (METANOIA), and not just emotionally distressed, but a genuine change. Faith cannot be separated from repent, faith comes after repentance (Mark 1:15). John the Baptist proclaimed on repentance and baptism (Mark 1:4) and only those who truly repent can be baptized. The Jewish faith put "repentance" as the first position.
Repentance brought about healing to the world- is to return to the path of God, to God's throne. It is a guarantee of God and his people are in order. May God touch the heart of believers to genuine repentance so that they can bear the seven other fruits (Matthew 3:8; Hebrews 13:15; Ephesians 5:9; Philippians 1:11; 2 Corinthians 9:10-11; Romans 6:22; 1 Corinthians 6:15; Galatians 5:22-23).
The Evangelism Service has been rescheduled to 21-23 February 2009. Invited speaker is Rev John Yeh, Pastor from United States who will be sharing fortune-telling and Feng Shui. Please pray for this event.
This Sunday, 26 October 2008, Elder Esther Tan will share God’s words with the congregation and witness His grace. Please attend.

主耶稣把悔改作为他在加利利传福音的主题(可一:15)。彼得讲了五次道,有三处明文提到悔改的重要性(徒二:38,三:19,五:31)。

1) 使徒彼得信主后讲了五篇道(徒二:14~39;三:12~26;四:1~ 12;五:29~32;十:34~43)
四个要点:(1)主基督的工作和他的受苦
(2)主基督的复活证明他是弥赛亚
(3)主基督升天后坐在上帝的右边
(4)主基督赐下圣灵
2) 对听众当有的回应是:(徒二:38)
(1)各人要悔改

(3)证实罪恶得赦免
(4)领受所赐的圣灵

10月12日上帝预备了160人一同在救恩浸信教会的殿堂一同为成立四周年献上感恩的祭,荣耀主名。进入第五年在上主日的秩序册中有提到林前12:15~26的四个目标:1)彼此需要,不能自我隔绝(15-20节), 2)彼此尊重,不可互相排斥(21节), 3)彼此关怀,不要单顾自己(22-25节), 4) 彼此联系, 确要同甘共苦(26节),多元性与 统一性并行, 是教会成长所不可缺少的因素。
4) 保健聚会
上周承蒙黄恩慈音乐讲师莅会传讲敬拜赞美的重要性与需要性,带领敬拜赞美的同工们必须都在推动牧养的职责,靠着圣灵的工作把信徒带入与上帝通过心灵与诚实的敬拜,预备心俾可接受再下去牧者的心声。黄讲师提到会幕的比方很需要存在心中,时刻默祷早日实现目标。伯拉图说:运动可以健壮身体,音乐可以健壮灵魂。这是事实,明晚七时半新教会苏才强牧师分享12年来教会的增长见证。
5) 联会季刊
新加坡基督教联合会正在收集稿件准备出版圣诞季刊,请惠赐稿件并刊登贺词,每人15元。
6) 关怀安排
每礼拜六下午五时请在万民堂集合, 一同出发探访及关怀有需要者。
7) 诗歌练习
主日5时一刻至6时(诗班),7时半至8时一刻(敬拜团练习)。

牧者的话:2004年10月开始信望爱聚会,大家集合一处,同颂主恩。四年来,教会促进敬拜、教导、关怀与宣教,配上每周二寄发心声,培训信徒,明白主道,结出灵果。每周有四次举行家庭小组,供应灵粮,彼此关怀,追求灵命成长。今日举行感恩礼拜,旨在荣耀归给上帝。第五年的主题定为“爱心施展”希伯来书10:24。教会将会继续完成林前12:15-26的四个目标:1)彼此需要,不能自我隔绝(15-20节), 2)彼此尊重,不可互相排斥(21节),3)彼此关怀,不要单顾自己(22-25节),4) 彼此联系, 确要同甘共苦(26节).多元性与统一性并行, 是教会成长所不可缺少的因素。信徒相互为肢体,合成基督的身体,相通相合,不可能分离,乃是成为一个。不同时代中的每一位信徒,都是这身体上活的肢体,按着圣灵给他们不同的恩赐,使他们在身体上显出不同的功用。盼望进入第五年,基督的身体继续增长,并且成为一个完全的生命机体。

The 4th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service was successfully held and participants were each given a booklet. I append the message from ”The Pastor’s Desk” below as reminder to believers to work together to accomplish the work of establishing the church as entrusted.
From the Pastor’s Desk:
With the grace of God, in October 2004 Faith, Hope and Love Service was established. These four years, we focused on worship, teaching, caring and mission work. Every Tuesday, letters were sent to believers to encourage them on the words of God so that they can bear spiritual fruits. Each week, there were 4 cell groups where the bread of life was shared and care for each other, the pursuit of spirituality to grow. Today’s thanksgiving service is to give God all the glories and honour. The theme of the fifth year is “Love and Good deeds," Hebrews 10:24. The Church will continue to pursue the four objectives in 1 Corinthians 12:15-26: 1) need each other, not self-isolation (15-20), 2) respect each other, not mutually exclusive (21), 3) care for each other, Do not look after themselves alone (22-25), 4) contact with each other, through adversity (26). Concurrent with the unity of diversity, this is essential for growth of the church. Believers are interconnected to as one in the body of Christ with consistency and should not be separated. Irregardless of the time frame, believers are living in this body extremity, according to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, they are able to function effectively as a body. I look forward to the fifth year, the body of Christ will continue to grow and be perfect in the body.
This Sunday worship service at 6.00pm will still be held at the Peoples Presbyterian Church. Please prepare to come before the Lord to receive His blessings and build up confidence in receiving His second coming.
We hope to hold a “Caring others” gathering in the month of November 2008. Please pray for the speaker, Rev John Yeh and his wife who is unwell and that the Lord in His promise will heal her.
Please don’t forget to attend Monday’s 7.30pm Healthy Lifestyle Fellowship. We have a body and a healthy heart vessel physically and spiritually, to love God and His people.
May you love God deeply.

明晚(十月六日)下午六时起圣经操休息一个月,七时半安排众信徒会集一处研讨三月来之听道后之回应并带入分享中,同时也欢迎为四周年提供意见,盼望把更大的恩福带给众人, 谢木水传道将会在我们当中见证主恩。 上周(廿九日)洪茂祥牧师提到他从一些教会接纳事工增长的途径,最重要是看重主耶稣升天之后所赐给信徒的二个礼物--圣灵与圣经。 主的道的兴旺带来人数的增加(徒六:7), 蒙圣灵的带领也是不可省略(徒九:31)。使徒行传是记录教会的成长与扩张,这本书也称为圣灵行传。洪茂祥牧师特别引用创一:1的启示勉励大家,上帝的灵运行在水面上,接着上帝的话就创造天地万物.上帝的话成就一切。洪牧师也翻阅帖前二:13节经文上帝的道运行在信的人心中, 这是教会增长工作果效的秘诀。 敬拜赞美训练会定十月十三日晚七时半举行, 黄恩慈传道负责教导。请全体会友出席。
5) 联会季刊
新加坡基督教联合会正在收集稿件准备出版圣诞季刊,请惠赐稿件并刊登贺词,每人15元。
6) 关怀安排
每礼拜六下午五时请在万民堂集合, 一同出发探访及关怀有需要者。

主日5时一刻至6时(诗班),7时半至8时一刻(敬拜团练习)。

除了主日崇拜之外, 每周一晚七时半在万民堂也举行器成人保健聚会, 旨在装备信徒成为合用器皿, 为上帝所用. 本周一邀请伯大尼堂洪茂祥牧师 分享更新教会的重要, 力求大家合力兴旺主工. 教会的需要更新有下面一段的心声:
末世教会时代 (1900- )
从圣经中的预言, 近代世界政治的演变, 军事的竟赛与武器之发展, 物质文明成了人类最高的欲望, 魔鬼的各种异端成为世人追求的信仰, 道得败坏的行为成了普通见贯的事. 教会神学明芽一种以怀疑态度, 重新估价并批判圣经, 乃以人的知识与理智来衡量并审判上帝的话语, 凡是人类理智所不能解释的地方, 他们认为不可信. 18, 19 世纪教会的战斗意志, 热心事主渐渐衰落, 只是靠着以往先圣所流下的根据继续生存, 基督教更正教会谈不上属灵真正的充分合作, 宣教及牧会专用人的确「方法」, 「组织」,「节目」和「活动」代替信靠圣灵和大能的明证 (林前二:4).
人们提倡宗教自由, 良心自由, 思想自由与纯正信仰, 朝向普世教会合一 (Ecumenical Movement) 的口号来维持教会的生存.
第七个世代大致上有以下的存在而产生了普协的新使命运动和迅速发展的灵恩运动, 原因:
(1) 欧洲帝国主义没落及第三世界兴起
(2) 西方国家道德灵性没落
(3) 比较宗教学和人类学兴起
(4) 世俗主义和新派神学的影响
(5) 小教派出现
(6) 圣经神学之动摇
(7) 普协结合政治导致解放神学
(8) 教会趋向世俗化
(9) 宣教事工退步
(10) 教会成为宗教集团,失去属灵的见证
求主用圣灵照明教会领袖及信徒们 「心中的眼睛」(弗一:18), 肯看出自己的缺乏, 存悔改的心追求圣洁和睦, 热心传扬福音, 靠信心得胜, 向敌人魔鬼宣战, 在圣经的指引, 圣灵的能力, 建立和乎上帝心意荣神益人的教会.

Peace be with you.
Beside the Sunday Worship Service, every Monday nights from 7.30pm, we have the Healthy Lifestyle fellowship at the Peoples Presbyterian Church. The fellowship is aimed at equipping believers to become instrumental vessels for God’s purpose. This Monday, we are privileged to have Rev Timothy Hoon, church moderator and senior pastor of the Bethany Presbyterian Church to share with us the importance of church renewal, so that through every believers’ efforts, God’s work may prosper. The need for church renewal is as follows:
Church of the End Times (1900- )
From prophesies in Scripture, the recent political evolution, the military and the arms race, we can see that consumerism has become the highest desire of mankind. Satanism, cultic involvement and immorality became the norm of society. There is growing skepticism towards biblical theology; and the biblical hermeneutics is now based on human reasoning and knowledge. Where the human intellect cannot be comprehended or explain, then they cannot be trusted. Rationalism has taken over faith. In the 18 and 19th centuries, the decline of the church was evident from the lack of spiritual fervor and devotion to the Scripture. The vitality of faith and commitment to the Word which characterized the Reformed Churches was not perpetuated in the subsequent church development. Instead churches resort to using “methods”, “groups”, “programs” and “activities” to substitute reliance on the Holy Spirit and hence lost the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:4).
Mankind advocated freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, freedom of thought and pure faith towards the universal Church (Ecumenical Movement) to maintain the survival of the church.
The rapid development of the New Life Movement and Charismatic movement in the church of end times can generally be attributed to the following reasons:
1. The Decline of European Imperialism and the Rise of the Third World
2. The Decline of Western Spirituality and Morals
3. The Comparison between Anthropology and Spirituality Resurgence
4. Secularism and the Impact of the Liberal Theology
5. The emergence of a small independent church groups
6. Growing Skepticism Towards Biblical Theology
7. Merging Ecumenism and Politics leading to the Liberation Theology
8. The Secularisation of the Church
9. The Decline of Missions
10. The Socialisation of Churches Leading to Loss of Spirituality
May God use the Holy Spirit to enlighten to leaders and believers that the eyes of the heart be opened (Ephesians 1:18), to see their own insufficiency, so as to repent and pursue holiness and in faith, fervently sharing the gospel, based on the teaching of the bible, fought and the strength of the Spirit, fought the battle against Satan so as to establish a church that is pleasing unto God.
This Sunday, 5 October 2008 at 6.00 pm, we will be observing the Lord’s Supper. Please attend in remembrance of the Lord’s blessing. 6 October 2008, days before the 4th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service, lets mediate on the content of this letter. Please remember that the Thanksgiving Service is to be held at 48, Wan Tho Ave on 12 October 2008. Time remains at 6.00 pm.
