主内列位同道及朋友们平安：
前天与内人陈月华长老飞往槟城参加陈汉良弟兄结婚四十周年感恩礼拜，约有100人出席聚会，聚餐时与好几位认识的亲友谈话，鼓励他（她）们相信主耶稣并藉洗礼归入主名。当晚睡眠前不停在思想洗礼的重要性，下面的十点提到洗礼的事：
1) 上帝打发约翰宣讲洗礼的事。（徒十：36～38；路三：2～3）
2) 遵守上帝对人的规定，合乎上帝的手续。 （太三：13～16；约三：22，四：1）
3) 进上帝的国必要的步骤。（约三：5）
4) 主升天前最后的吩咐。（太廿八：19；可十六：16）
5) 听道后应该怎样行？彼得提到四点其中一点就是受洗：（ 徒二：31～38，41）
6) 信福音，领受洗礼教会初步的工作就完成了。（徒八：36）
7) 保罗受劝告要领洗，得赦罪。 （徒廿二：16）
8) 接受圣灵，也当接受洗礼。（徒十：47～48）
9) 禁卒一家人接受主，立时就受洗。（徒十六：33）
10) 保罗劝信徒应该接受洗礼（ 徒十九：5）
洗礼使人得新生命。罪得赦。归入基督（归入主的死，与他一同埋葬，一同复活，意思是进入基督里，与主联合，相信后，还要成为在他里面的人,在生命中继续成长）。
本周四（九月四日）至周六每日上午7.30am－8.30am 有研经聚会，晚上7.30pm-9.30pm是培灵大会，台湾夏忠坚牧师将分享灵粮，地点是纽顿生命堂。
本主日（九月七日）下午六时定为圣餐主日，请预备心一齐到主桌前虔守圣餐，纪念主恩。
九月八日（拜一）晚七时半请出席全人保健聚会，领受祝福还有信徒的见证，夏牧师传达重要的信息。

Dear fellow believers and friends
Peace!
My wife, Esther Tan and I attended the 40th Wedding Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of my brother-in-law in Penang the previous day. There were about 100 relatives attending the occasion. During reception, I shared with several relatives and encouraged them to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be baptized in His name. As I retired for the day, I kept pondering on the importance of baptism. Below are the ten pointers about baptism:
1) God sent John the Baptist to proclaim the message of baptism (Acts 10: 36-38, Luke 3: 2-3);
2) God’s command to mankind, compliance to God’s procedures; (Matthew 3:13-16; John 3: 22; 4:1)
3) Criteria for entering into God’s kingdom; (John 3:5)
4) Jesus Christ’s command before He ascended to heaven; (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16)
5) After listening to the gospel, what was the next step? Peter mentioned 4 conditions, of which baptism was one of them. (Acts 2: 31-38, 41);
6) Believing in the gospel, the preliminary step is to be baptized (Acts 8:36)
7) Paul advised that for remission of sin was to be baptized (Acts 22:16);
8) To receive the Holy Spirit and be baptized (Acts 10: 47-48)
9) Upon accepting Christ, the Jailer and his whole family were baptized immediately (Acts 16:33)
10) Paul advised believers to be baptized (Acts 19:5)
Baptism leads one to become a new creation, sins forgiven and enters into Christ Jesus (enters into His death, His burial and His resurrection. Meaning to be with Christ, He and us are one and be a part of Christ himself; continue to grow spiritually).
This Thursday 4 September to Saturday from 7.30am to 8.30am will be the annual Bible Research Convention; from 7.30pm to 9.30pm will be the annual Revival Meeting organized by the Chinese Union Chinese of Singapore. Rev James Shia from Taiwan will be the pulpit minister. The place is Newton Life Church.
This Sunday, 7 September 2008 at 6.00pm, will be Holy Communion Sunday. Please prepare your heart to partake in the Lord’s supper, in remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On Monday, 8 September 2008 at 7.30pm, please attend the Healthy Lifestyle Fellowship, receiving God’s blessing and be enriched by fellow believers’ testimony. Rev Jame Shia will also deliver an important sermon.
