1958年5月18日与印尼耶加达颜供枫长老一同搭鹰航机飞来新加坡，他决定定居新加坡，我则进入新加坡神学院接受四年神学训练。毕业后便在真理堂事奉，颜长老在真道上常有分享，他是一位有灵命的长老，感谢主。前天（8月29）日在早报上看到他息劳的讣闻，享年100岁，上面提到他去天上领受天父所赐的冠冕，这是一件大有荣耀的事，满足了神的心。
在圣经提到信徒可得到五种冠冕：---
a) 公义的冠冕 （提后四：8）---因上帝的公义甘心忍受各种不同的对待。
b) 不朽坏的冠冕（林前九：25）---愿意除去肉体的私欲，专心在传福音的目标上。
c) 喜乐的冠冕 （帖前二：19；腓四：1）---在各种考验中站稳，领人归主。
d) 生命的冠冕 （启二：10）---甘心受苦为主作见证，忍耐至死忠心。
e) 荣耀的冠冕 （彼前五：4）---作群羊牧者的人，受托看管上帝的羊。
主日崇拜中余达富牧师勉励会众传讲福音，可得喜乐的冠冕。这是神的应许。
本周六（9月5日）晚请带领亲友参加诗歌分享会，地点是801实龙岗上段金殿堂，9月6日下午6时也将有诗歌分享会，地点在万民堂，请为张汉林牧师代祷。那日将虔守圣餐纪念主。敬祝

Dear fellow believers and friends
Peace!
On 18 May 1958, Elder Gan and I took Garuda airline from Jakarta to Singapore. Elder Gan decided to migrate to Singapore whereas I was admitted to the Bible College to undergo a 4 years of theological studies. Upon graduation, I served in the Chen Li Presbyterian Church where Elder Gan always preached that he was a spiritual filled Elder. Thank God for that. On 29 August 2009 while reading the obituary, I learned of his passing away. He was 100 years old. The obituary stated that he has gone to the heavenly father to collect his crown. This is a glorious event that God is most pleased.
The Bible mentioned about the five crowns:-
a) The crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8) Because of His righteous, He is willing to accept different treatment.
b) Everlasting Crown (1 Corinthians 9:25) Willing to forgo the physical being, objective to share the gospel
c) The crown of joy (2 Thessalonians 2:19, Philippians 4:1)- Able to withstand in all situations in order to bring others to Christ.
d) The crown of life (Revelation 2: 10) – Willing to suffer for the Lord even to the point of death.
e) The glorious crown (1 Peter 5:4) – Shepherd God chosen sheep.
Last Sunday Rev Eric Yee encouraged the congregation to share the gospel and God’s promise for that is the crown of joy.
This Saturday (5 September 2009) do invite your friend to attend the Musical Outreach. The Place is Kim Tian Christian Church, 811 Upper Serangoon. On Sunday, 6 September 2009 at 6pm there will be a second session of Musical Outreach but the place is at the Peoples Presbyterian Church. Please keep Rev Henry Chong in your prayer. We will also have the Communion in remembrance of the Lord.
